About Me

If I had my way, there would be no "About Me" section, because for all the yammering away I do on this blog, writing a bio falls just below 'root canal' on my list of least favorite things to do.

I am a Mom of two young kids, a jewelry designer, writer and blogger, but never all at the same time. When I'm Mommying., which is most of the time, I try not to daydream about writing or jewelry, and when I'm jewelrying and writing I try not to daydream about the kids.

I am a woman in recovery from alcoholism, just trying to keep the wolf away from the door one day at a time, and founder of Crying Out Now, a site where women come share their stories of addiction and recovery.

Earlier this month  I made the decision to stop writing about my specific recovery on this blog.  I talk about why I made this decision here.  (Crying Out Now will continue - if you are here to read powerful truths about addiction and recovery, I encourage you to head over there and read what these incredible women have to say).    I will leave the archives up, and you can read about my addiction and recovery journey there.

Shortly after making this decision, I was diagnosed with Stage Four Tonsil Cancer. My fight with cancer is just beginning, but my early prognosis is good.  I will be writing about my journey through cancer on this blog.  I am grateful for this space to write my thoughts and feelings, and for the generous, warm, comforting community it provides.
